The ongoing ‘Super GST-Super Savings’ awareness programme reached the Government Maternity Hospital here on Thursday, with the medical professionals spreading awareness on the benefits of GST 2.0 to the patients and attendants.

Led by Resident Medical Officer and civil surgeon Dr. Ramanarayana Reddy and Superintendent Dr. Radha, the medical team cited the huge fall in the prices of life-saving drugs, availability of medical services and health insurance packages at an affordable rate.

Similarly, hospitals can also procure everything from State-of-the-art medical and laboratory equipment to the thermometer at cheaper prices, they said. The doctors explained that the reduction in the cost of treatment of biomedical waste would also lead to sizable savings to the tune of ₹50 per patient.

A rally was taken out at the hospital premises and a human chain formed to spread the message. Nursing, paramedical staff and students took part in large numbers.
