Dakshayini Avvaji, Chancellor of Sharnbasva University and president of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha, has been honoured with the ICT Education Changemaker Award for her contribution to transforming higher education through innovation, leadership, and vision.
The award, instituted by the ICT Academy, recognises education leaders who drive institutional growth, academic excellence, and future-ready learning. The award was presented during the ICT Academy BRIDGE 25 – 68th edition held in Bengaluru on Friday. Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Palanivel Thiagarajan, presented the award, which was received on behalf of Ms. Avvaji by Basavaraj Deshmukh, secretary of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha.
In its citation, the ICT Academy commended Ms. Avvaji’s commitment to re-imagining higher education through inclusive, technology-driven initiatives that inspire change and make learning more effective and future-oriented.
Dignitaries present included Vikram Balakrishnan, Chief Technical Officer and Head of Transformation at ATOs; V. Srikant, Chief Executive Officer, ICT Academy; and Shipra Sharma, CSR Leader, IBM India/South Asia, among others.
Established in 2009, the ICT Academy focuses on bridging the skill gap between academia and industry, especially in tier-II and tier-III cities. The academy operates through a seven-pillar programme covering faculty development, student skill enhancement, entrepreneurship promotion, youth empowerment, industry–institute collaboration, digital literacy, and research and publication.
