ACB traps Amalapuram Dy. MRO accepting ₹50,000 bribe

Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped Amalapuram Deputy Mandal Revenue Officer, P. Ashok Prasad and Village Revenue Assistant, P. Ramu Subramanyeswara Rao, while they were reportedly accepting ₹50,000 bribe from the complainant on Wednesday. The accused Dy. MRO demanded a bribe for entering the agriculture land of the complainant online.

Acting on the complaint, the Rajahmundry ACB officials registered a case and trapped the two accused red-handed while they were taking the amount. They would be produced in the Rajahmundry ACB Special Court.

In a separate case, the ACB Special Court awarded two years rigorous imprisonment to Assistant Director, Government General Hospital (GGH), Vijayawada, T. Shankar Rao, in a trap case. The ACB officials arrested the accused while he was accepting a bribe of ₹1,500 from an AC mechanic for clearing bills in March 2013.
