57.11 lakh women screened at 25,192 free medical camps in A.P., says Health Minister

Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav has said that around 57.11 lakh women and children availed of healthcare services provided free of cost at medical camps organised as part of the ‘Swasth Nari Sasakth Parivar Abhiyan’ held across the State from September 17 to October 2.

In a statement released to the media on Saturday (October 4, 2025), the Minister stated that 25,192 medical camps were organised in 26 districts for 16 days, following a call given by the Central government to all States and Union Territories. These camps were held simultaneously across the country to stress the importance of health of a woman for the health of a family.

Out of 57.11 lakh beneficiaries, 12,01,657 people underwent blood pressure tests, 11,42,001 diabetes tests, 9,70,386 haemoglobin tests, 2,69,655 tuberculosis tests, and 37,561 underwent sickle cell screening tests.

Women also underwent cancer screening for oral, breast and cervical cancers. While 6,36,949 women underwent tests for oral cancer, 3,61,083 for breast cancer and 2,43,933 underwent cervical cancer tests. At least 83,451 children were vaccinated.

As many as 10,225 people took part in a blood donation programme held as part of the medical camps. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) cards were given to 1,73,685 people, the Minister added.
