Director DW Medoff is a king of gnarly horror, whether in his stomach-churning I Will Never Leave You Alone or his heart-wrenching Pollen. Now, for the first time, Medoff is taking on a film from a script he didn’t write. Instead, he paired up with new writer Joey Miller to craft Your Host, a nasty new film about a twisted game show host and his victims.
In the film, “Four friends become unwilling contestants in a sadistic game show, forced to outwit a twisted serial killer as the clock ticks down. Each decision brings them closer to escape—or a gruesome fate.“
We spoke with Medoff about the films that inspired the film’s look, pulling off some gnarly kills, and working with the great Jackie Earle Haley.
