Watch Fantastic Fest’s ‘Masters of Horror’ Panel

Fantastic Fest isn’t the only genre institution celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. This year, Mick Garris’ iconic TV series, Masters of Horror, also celebrates two decades since its release. And to commemorate the occasion, on September 24, 2025, Garris took the stage at the Highball in Austin, Texas, during Fantastic Fest to host a panel with some of those Masters.

More specifically, Mick Garris assembled Don Coscarelli, Ernest Dickerson, and Joe Dante to talk about the inception of this circle of filmmaking friends and the many highs and lows they’ve experienced over the past two decades.

Watch below:

Masters of Horror first aired on October 28, 2005, and ran until February 7, 2007. Each episode was a self-contained story, directed by one of these Masters of Horror, who were essentially friends of Garris who came together for informal dinners. Coscarelli and Dante were two of the ten original “Masters”, with Dickerson soon coming into the fold.

If you’re curious about the series, all episodes are available now on Tubi.

This panel was recorded live at The Highball at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar during Fantastic Fest on September 24, 2025.
