“Dead is just a word…”

Spooky season is almost upon us, and something tells us Halloween will play a key role in Blumhouse’s marketing for Black Phone 2… Certainly if the terrifying final trailer is anything to go by.

Dripping with atmosphere, the clip gives us a much better idea of how the events in Black Phone 2 will transpire.

With Finney Blake choosing to repress his past encounter with Ethan Hawke’s The Grabber, he opts not to believe his sister Gwen when she begins having terrifying dreams.

In said dreams, Hawke returns, seeming more blood thirsty than ever… Yes, The Grabber may be physically dead, but his evil presence remains to torment Gwen.

Seeming to feature many loving homages to Freddy Krueger and the Nightmare on Elm Street series, Black Phone 2 lets us know there’s a new dream demon in town.

Using his sister’s dreams as a guide, Finney assembles a team and investigates an abandoned summer camp. Feeling they’ve been drawn there for a reason, his sister’s dreams take a shockingly violent turn.

Having lured his victims in, can The Grabber manifest enough hateful energy to appear in the waking world? What’s more, can he finish what was started four years ago?

Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill look to have successfully levelled up The Grabber to a fully supernatural entity with Black Phone 2. How he will use his new found paranormal gifts to torment his latest set of victims is something we’re dying to see.

One thing we know for sure, Black Phone 2 looks like a terrifying ride, going even darker than the 2021 original. Seeming like the perfect Halloween movie treat, this could be the box-office hit that Blumhouse are so desperately in need of.
