Summer Pockets Reveals Newest Trailer & Visual, Casts Kana Hanazawa

The official Twitter/X and website for the ongoing Summer Pockets TV anime series have revealed an eighth new trailer, visual, and latest cast member, ahead of the upcoming 23rd episode on September 8, 2025. The series began broadcasting in Japan on April 7, 2025 and is running for two consecutive cours, containing 26 total episodes.

Voice actress Kana Hanazawa joins the cast as Nanami, who is featured in the new visual, along with Shiroha Naruse

Tomoki Kobayashi (Remake Our Life!, Seiren) is directing the anime series, with Mai Otsuka (The Demon Girl Next Door) as character designer, Keiichiro Ochi (Go, Go, Loser Ranger!, The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio) as series screenwriter, Sari Tagawa (Remake Our Life!) as color designer, Shunichiro Yoshihara (Dr.STONE, Bubble) as background art director, Fumito Nanba (Remake Our Life!) as compositing director, and Makoto Takigasaki (The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting) as animation producer. Feel. is handling the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars: 

  • • Shoya Chiba as Hairi Takahara (voiced protagonist in Reflection Blue)
  • • Konomi Kohara as Shiroha Naruse
  • • Natsumi Takamori as Ao Sorakado
  • • Emiri Iwai as Tsumugi Wenders
  • • Nene Hieda as Kamome Kushima (replaces visual novel voice actress Tomomi Mineuchi)

The original Summer Pockets visual novel was released by Key in June 2018 for PC, iOS, and Android. A Switch and Steam release followed in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The game features original character designs from artists Na-Ga, Tsubasu Izumi, Yunon Nagayama, and Fumuyun.

An updated game titled Summer Pockets Reflection Blue, which features new heroines and routes, was released in 2020 for PC and Android, in 2021 for iOS and Switch, and in 2022 for PS4. A standard edition with Windows 11 support and bonus physical items was released in September 2024. Reflection Blue was launched worldwide on Steam on June 27, 2025, which includes support for Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese.

Crunchyroll is streaming the Summer Pockets anime adaptation worldwide, describing the main synopsis as: 

Hairi Takahara never expected summer to feel like a dream. Sent to Torishirojima to sort through his late grandmother’s belongings, he’s met with endless sea, quiet nostalgia, and mysterious girls, each chasing something just out of reach. As he settles into island life, lost memories begin to surface and he finds what he never knew he’d lost.
