Crunchyroll is teaming up with the free-to-play turn-based RPG and gacha title Honkai: Star Rail, with plans that include the exclusive premiere of the HoYoFair special fan event Chimerric Park on November 6.
HoYoFair is a recurring event that highlights fan works of HoYoverse games (others including Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero), and this iteration will be on Crunchyroll only for two weeks. Interestingly, the press release we received says that “New and existing Crunchyroll members and Honkai: Star Rail players who link their accounts can undertake missions to view “Chimerric Park,” so it looks like watching Chimerric Park during its Crunchyroll exclusive premiere period will require more than just logging in.
There will also be in-game rewards like Stellar Jades and Lost Crystals to earn from missions.
Naturally, Crunchyroll wants people to watch its anime catalogue too (or entice Fan tier subscribers to upgrade). It’ll be giving a free 14-day trial (versus the typical 7-day trial) for the Mega Fan tier of Crunchyroll Premium (normally US$11.99 a month, versus Fan’s US$7.99) to “eligible” players who link their Honkai: Star Rail account to a Crunchyroll one. This will also begin on November 6, when the event’s official page goes live.
The collaboration will take place over a few rounds, with the dates being:
• First round: November 6, 6 PM PT to November 25, 5:59 PM PT
• Second round: November 25 6 PM PT to December 16 5:59 PM PT
• Third round: December 16 6 PM PT to January 6, 2026 5:59 PM PT
• Fourth round: January 6, 2026 6 PM PT to January 27, 2026 5:59 PM PT
The collaboration will be available worldwide save for China, Japan, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Iran, Syria, and the Ukrainian regions Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk.
In a statement for the press release, Crunchyroll’s Executive Vice President of Emerging Business Terry Li said, “We know that nearly 80% of anime fans play anime or anime-related games, and 40% of our audience are playing pop culture defining games like Honkai: Star Rail more than 20 hours a week. Delivering in-game rewards to Crunchyroll Members is our way of enhancing their gaming experiences and creating compelling moments to jump into titles that speak to our fans.”
