Slow Ahead! Season 2 Docks in 2026

The second season of the Azur Lane: Slow Ahead! short anime, Azur Lane: Bisokuzenshin! Ni!!, will premiere in 2026. An illustration drawn by character designer and chief animation director Nana Mori was released with the announcement.

Azur Lane: Slow Ahead! is based on the Ichijinsha-published manga by Hori, which is part of the Azur Lane: franchise that started with a naval-themed, ship girl mobile game. Crunchyroll describes the 2021 first season as:

This is a slightly peculiar world where the shipgirls live in. A lively and enjoyable school life for girls from different factions will begin at the naval port of Azur Lane. Living out their lives to the fullest, these girls get into various shenanigans—slowly but surely!

The Azur Lane game was launched in Japan on September 14, 2017 with Yostar as publisher, a few months after its May release in China. 2019 saw the launch of the English version and the premiere of a TV anime adaptation.

The premise of Azur Lane sees the fleets of the titular organization combating a threat known as the Sirens. Google Play describes the game as a “mix of RPG, 2D shooter and tactical genres.”
