“Shikaku” Anime Short from Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 Anthology Wins Audience Prize at Bucheon International Animation Festival 2025

“Shikaku,” one of the shorts from the upcoming Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 anime anthology, scored the Audience Prize in the Bucheon International Animation Festival 2025’s short film category.

Directed by Naoya Ando (Paradox Live THE ANIMATION, the upcoming Shingekijoban Gintama -Yoshiwara Daienjo-) and based on a one-shot by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man, Look Back), “Shikaku” sees an incredibly formidable young assassin tasked with killing her client on her latest job. It seems like an easy job, but there’s more to the client than meets the eye.

The anime short is produced by GRAPH77 and has character designs and animation supervision from MYOUN. Kana Hanazawa and Tomokazu Sugita star as the leads.

Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 is set to begin streaming on Prime Video on November 8 JST. The collection of shorts is based on various one-shots drawn by Fujimoto earlier in his career.

A couple of other anime also received recognition at Bucheon International Animation Festival 2025. One of them was Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise, which received the Audience Prize in the Feature Film category and the Korea Society of Cartoon and Animation Studies(KOSCAS) President’s Prize. Additionally, The Last Blossom took the DHL Diversity Prize.
