It’s that time again for Capcom to announce its updated “Platinum Titles” list of games that have sold in excess of 1 million units as of September 30, 2025. And as expected, the top 10 is still dominated by the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter series, with the former adding several million more units sold.
The biggest seller since the previous update back in June is Resident Evil Village, which sold in excess of 600,000 units across PC and consoles, bringing its lifetime total to 12.8 million units. Of course, the top seller of the series is still the remake of Resident Evil 2, which added an additional 500,000 units for total of 16.3 million units.
Obviously, with the impending release of Resident Evil Requiem next February, the more recent Resident Evil titles have been enjoying increased sales. However, the best-selling Capcom title still remains Monster Hunter: World with 21.8 million units.
Likely benefitting from the Netflix adaptation that was released earlier this year, Devil May Cry 5 still remains the best-selling of the franchise, adding another 200,000 units for a 10.7 million lifetime total across PC and consoles. The next highest total is Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, which currently sits at 3.6 million units sold.
Dead Rising 3 is still the highest-selling of the franchise at 4 million units lifetime. Unfortunately, last year’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is nowhere to be found among the list’s 125 entries, which unfortunately doesn’t bode well for the series getting a second look. However, Dead Rising 3 did add an additional 400,000 units since last year, so who knows?
Meanwhile, Resident Evil Requiem lumbers to a February 27 release for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are now open.
