The official Twitter/X account for the Puniru is a Kawaii Slime TV anime series announced the addition of four new cast members joining the second season. The ongoing second season began broadcasting in Japan on July 6, 2025 and will run for 12 episodes.
The new cast members will appear in season two’s 10th episode (22nd overall in the series) on September 7, 2025, and include three members of Mami Kirara’s family and Kotaro’s classmate from kindergarten. They include:
- • Kikuko Inoue as Oka Kirara
- • Hiro Shimono as Teru Kirara
- • Honoka Inoue as Maika Kirara
- • Aoi Yuki as Doru Saotome
They join a voice cast that stars:
- • Yu Sasahara as Puniru
- • Shuichiro Umeda as Kotaro Kawaii
- • Risa Shimizu as Mami Kirara
- • Junya Enoki as Yusuke Nanpa
- • Yumiri Hanamori as Alice Okanega
- • Sumire Uesaka as Gelee
Like the first season, the second season is directed by Yushi Ibe (Tearmoon Empire), with Michiko Yokote (The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist) as series screenwriter and Aya Tanaka (Mushoku Tensei Season 2 sub-character designer) as character designer. TOHO animation STUDIO is in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the manga series by Maeda-kun, which began serialization in Shougakukan’s Weekly Corocoro Comic on March 15, 2022 after starting out as a one-shot released on February 28, 2019. Nine tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2025.
The manga was also one of the winners of the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award last year.
