Prime Video Japan has released a clip compilation that previews the Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 anime anthology’s various quirky entries, just ahead of their worldwide streaming release on November 8 JST. The video has a total length of 17 minutes and 26 seconds.
The anthology previously had its world premiere at Los Angeles’ TCL Chinese Theatre on October 5, as part of the Global Stage Hollywood film festival, as well as a limited Japanese theatrical run that began on October 17 JST.
The anime shorts are based on early one-shots by Tatsuki Fujimoto, creator of Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man. One of them, “Shikaku,” scored the Audience Prize in the Bucheon International Animation Festival 2025’s short film category. The Naoya Ando-directed short sees a dangerous young assassin (Kana Hanazawa) tasked by her latest client (Tomokazu Sugita) to kill him.
Avex Animation Labels president Ryo Oyama, who previously had a planning and produce credit on the anime film Look Back, also an adaptation of a Fujimoto one-shot, is involved in Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26’s production. One of the participating animation studios, STUDIO GRAPH77, was founded by the Avex-owned anime planning, production, and sales company FLAGSHIP LINE, which Oyama is a FLAGSHIP LINE board member.
