NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) — Several buildings at the University of Delaware in Newark have been evacuated, officials said Tuesday afternoon.
The evacuations are due to a “potential campus safety incident.”
Gore Hall, Sharp Lab and Mitchell Hall have been evacuated in an effort to “prioritize the safety of our University community,” school officials said.
The nature of the incident was not immediately known.
South College Avenue is currently closed in both directions between Delaware Avenue and Park Place.
University police are asking everyone to avoid the area.
