Police seek help in solving North Philadelphia homicide case as leads run cold

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Police are seeking the public’s help as they continue to investigate a homicide from last spring.

“Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 8:05 received call of man with gun on highway,” says Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission.

Authorities are talking about the shooting death of 42-year-old Alexander Gary.

When officers arrived on the scene on the 3400 block of Hope Street in North Philadelphia, they found evidence of a crime, but no victim.

“He was taken to the hospital by private auto, but by time they got there he had succumbed to his injuries,” says Montecalvo.

Police recovered six gun shell casings at the scene.

But nearly six months later, they still have no leads on a suspect in the case.

“Anybody with information in the shooting death of Alexander, contact the Citizen Crime Commission. There’s a $20,000 reward,” says Montecalvo.

If you have any information that can help police solve this murder, you’re urged to give them a call and receive that award.
