Next year’s You and I Are Polar Opposites TV anime has received its third trailer, along with a main visual, January 11 JST premiere date reveal, and the announcement of PAS TASTA feat. Eriko Hashimoto‘s “Pure” (previewed in the trailer) as the ending theme song.
While previous previews already seemed promising, the new You and I Are Polar Opposites trailer is packed with bubbly energy, vivid colors, and charming expressions that make the romantic comedy anime look even more irresistible. The smear animation and the accompanying sound effect as one of the characters pumps her first into the air at 0:59 are particularly addictive.

An adaptation of the manga by Kocha Agasawa, You and I Are Polar Opposites follows the energetic Suzuki and the subdued Tani. Takayoshi Nagatomo (SHOSHIMIN Episode 3 and 8 storyboarder and director et al.) is directing this at Lapin Track, with Teruko Utsumi (Sarazanmai co-series composer and co-scriptwriter, model producer) as as series composer and animation producer and Miyakomako as character designer.
The manga started serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ in May 2022 and ended in November 2024, on the same day as the anime’s announcement. Manga Plus describes the premise as such:
Suzuki, an energetic girl who can’t help but follow the crowd, finds herself drawn to Tani, a quiet boy who can easily speak his mind. Enter: the serialization of a hit one-shot! A story for anyone who wants to enjoy love! This down-to-earth, relatable rom-com is ready to pull at your heartstrings!
