The official Twitter/X and website of the upcoming Oedo Fire Slayer -The Legend of Phoenix- TV anime series has announced the addition of 10 more new voice cast members. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in January 2026.
The 10 new cast members joining the series include:

- • Yasuaki Takumi as Renji
- • Shinpachi Tsuji as Kingoro
- • Aya Hisakawa as Akiyo
- • Shinnosuke Ogami as Moriemon Dategaseki
- • Kana Ichinose as Osuzu
- • Tetsuo Komura as Heizo Nobuo Hasegawa
- • Shinichiro Miki as Togoro
They join a main voice cast that stars:
- • Yuichiro Umehara as Gengo Matsunaga
- • Shuichiro Umeda as Shinnosuke Torigoe
- • Subaru Kimura as Torajiro
- • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hikoya
- • Kensho Ono as Seijuro Kaji
SynergySP is handling the animation production for the anime series.
The anime is based on Hikuidori, the 2017 first volume of Naoki Prize winner Shogo Imamura‘s Ushuboro Tobigumi novel series. Thirteen volumes have been published by Shodensha in Japan, as of 2022, which includes a spinoff short story collection. The novels have also inspired an audio drama.
A manga adaptation of Oedo Fire Slayer -The Legend of Phoenix- was announced in February 2025 and was launched in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion on April 24, 2025.
