Dear Hope for Haiti family,
Hope for Haiti CEO, Skyler Badenoch, recently returned from a trip to work alongside our team members in Haiti. In this video, Skyler shares some of the highlights from his trip, including visiting some of our partner schools, seeing old friends and program beneficiaries, and attending a mobile clinic.
A Note from Skyler:
Recently, I spent the day driving though the mountains of southern Haïti, visiting completed schools, checking in on water filtration systems bringing clean water to rural families, meeting with partners, visiting friends, and eating exceptional food with exceptional people. It was good to be in Haïti and to think about so many things besides natural disasters and the devastation they cause.
At the end of the long, hot, exhausting day, all I could think was, “Nou toujou la.” We are still here.
Supporters like you make our work in possible, benefitting hundreds of thousands of people each year. In this continued time of economic uncertainty, charitable giving is facing a downward trend, but the work doesn’t stop. Families still need us, and, for as long as that remains true, we will continue to do the work. Please consider making a donation today.
September is Hunger Action Month
Did you know that September is Hunger Action Month? It’s a time to recognize how many people worldwide are facing food insecurity and take action. Our team has conducted more than 4,000 nutrition consultations since February of this year, screening children for signs of malnutrition and supplying their families with tools to ensure they can meet healthy development goals.
According to the World Food Program (WFP), 4.7 million people in Haiti are projected to be facing severe hunger. You can take action today by donating to our Healthcare program, which includes the public health and nutrition initiatives that make this life-saving work possible!

Hope for Haiti Receives Healthcare Grant from Clara Lionel Foundation
We’re thrilled to share that the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), founded by global icon and humanitarian Rihanna, has awarded Hope for Haiti a grant to be distributed over the next three years.
This transformative gift will directly fuel our healthcare programs, helping to provide life-saving services like maternal healthcare, diabetes treatment, breast and cervical cancer screenings, children’s nutrition support, and public health education to communities in southern Haiti.
Our Chief Program Officer, Linda Thélémaque, and CEO, Skyler Badenoch, recently attended CLF’s partner conference in Barbados (pictured below) to discuss collaboration and the partners’ work in the Caribbean, Africa, and the US South.
The Clara Lionel Foundation has been a longstanding partner in our mission to improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, and we are deeply grateful for its continued investment in health and hope.
Together, we are making sustainable progress possible, one patient, one community, and one partnership at a time.
