Voice actor Nobunaga Shimazaki is joining the voice cast of the currently airing Ninja vs. Gokudo TV anime series. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 7, 2025.
Shimazaki will voice the duct-tape-faced Daijin, who is briefly shown in a newly released trailer for the anime’s sixth episode.

He joins a main voice cast that stars Chiaki Kobayashi as Shinoha Tanaka, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kiwami Kimura, and Sumire Uesaka as Gamute.
Toshinori Watabe (Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest, Edens Zero Season 2, Twilight Out of Focus) is directing the anime series, with Keiichiro Ochi (Summer Pockets, Once Upon a Witch’s Death) as series screenwriter and Tokuyuki Matsutake (Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike) as character designer. Studio Deen is handling the animation production.
The original action comedy manga by Shinsuke Kondo, which launched in Kodansha’s Comic Days on January 20, 2020 and has released 16 volumes as of October 2025. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release.

Amazon Prime Video is streaming the Ninja vs. Gokudo anime series worldwide. It describes the main premise as:
The ninja banish evil from the shadows. The gokudo gather lonely outcasts and commit crimes. The grudge they forged centuries ago is rekindled in the present day. The ninja Shinoha meets Kiwami, a gokudo with the face of a businessman. Unknowing of the other’s identity, they bond over anime, but the war between ninja and gokudo intensifies.
