Back in June, we reported that A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 star Mark Patton was calling on fans for support.
Since the age of 40, Patton has been living with HIV, and in recent years, his health had worsened to the point of needing constant care. Patton was turning to his devoted fanbase in the hopes of crowdfunding further care.
We were happy to share Mark’s cause, and his GoFundMe campaign currently sits at over $30,000.
However, Mark has once again called on fans to spread the word of one very important fact… He isn’t dead.
Patton took to social media recently to let people know that European press reports of his “tragic final days” were greatly exaggerated.
Patton admitted that although his health has declined, and he currently requires the use of a wheelchair, he is still very much alive.
In full, Patton said:
“I have no idea why this announcement was released as clickbait in the EU. I am leaving it up for people who were deceived, I am alive l am sick and having physical problems, death is not on the list. The Press has gone just as mean and cruel…. Thank you, I don’t I think this is funny…”
So, we’ve heard it directly from Mark himself. Although he’s unwell from a serious autoimmune disorder, the Elm Street star doesn’t intend to go anywhere soon. We’re very glad to hear it!
Mark’s GoFundMe campaign remains active, and continues to receive donations towards his full-time care. If you’d like to pledge your support, you can find the campaign at the link below:
