My Hero Academia Final Season Recruits BUMP OF CHICKEN for Ending Song Duties

BUMP OF CHICKEN has been announced as the ending song artist for My Hero Academia Final Season.

The song is titled “I” and will make its debut in the anime on October 11, meaning that it’s skipping the premiere on October 4.

An announcement video for “I” was also released:

My Hero Academia Final Season is the eighth season of the My Hero Academia anime series, which adapts Kohei Horikoshi‘s superhero action manga. It will be available on Crunchyroll and the Ani-One Asia YouTube (via ULTRA membership) overseas.

The original Weekly Shonen Jump manga ran from 2014 to 2024, and has the following synopsis from Viz Media:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny.

Beyond the TV anime, there have been four My Hero Academia anime movies and an adaptation of the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spin-off. The second season of the latter is due in January 2026, so My Hero Academia fans will have plenty of anime fare to feast on for the next few months. There are also video games and an upcoming Hollywood live-action movie.

BUMP OF CHICKEN is a rock band that originated in 1994. They recently had their 2024 single “Kaiko” featured in a promotional video for the March Comes in Like A Lion manga’s 18th volume.
