Mecha Comic Operator Amutus and Publisher SB Creative Jointly Establish Mecha Comic GA Manga Company

Amutus, the operator of the Mecha Comic platform, and SB Creative, whose business activities include the publication of light novels under the GA Bunko and GA Novel labels, have jointly established a new company called Mecha Comic GA. The company’s business activities concern the planning, production, and sales of manga.

According to the announcement (made on October 16 JST), Mecha Comic GA was created with the aim of strengthening original IP creation and media mix developments. Beyond expanding its female- and male-oriented title lineups and producing higher quality manga through its collaboration with SB Creative, Amutus is hoping to create new hit IPs that lead to other media like anime adaptations and goods.

Mecha Comic features manga from publishers like Kodansha and Alphapolis as well as works from various original labels. There have been long- and short-form drama adaptations of a number of these originals, including Rinko-san wa Shitemitai and RISKY ~Fukushuu wa Tsumi no Aji~. The majority of the original labels are targeted at female readers.

SB Creative has seen anime adaptations of many of its titles, including the upcoming Noble Reincarnation ~Born Blessed, So I’ll Obtain Ultimate Power~, The Holy Grail of Eris, and I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand. My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? are other anime that are based on SB Creative works.

Amutus owns 60% of Mecha Comic GA’s stocks, while SB Creative holds the remaining 40%.
