Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly Anime Reveals Pilot Film and Teaser Visual, April 2026 Premiere

The upcoming new Pierrot Magical Girl Series anime Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly is set to begin airing in April 2026.

In the meantime, a pilot film and teaser visual provide a brief preview of the magical girl show’s vibes and its two protagonists. Expect to see a lot of comforting pinks and blues.

Those two leads are elementary schooler Fu Nonoyama (blue-haired, voiced by Mei Tachibana) and middle schooler Rui Nonoyama (pink-haired, voiced by Nao Ojika), sisters who are no longer as close as they were before. After obtaining magic separately, they gain the ability to transform into older bodies — Fu turns into CompatoLilly, while Rui becomes MashuLulu.

The catch? The magic will only last for one year, and they can’t let anyone know about the existence of magic. Under these conditions, and without knowing of one another’s secret, the two sisters began idol activities.

Directing Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly is animator Shintaro Doge, who is also credited with the character design drafts. The crew also includes:

• Series composer and scriptwriter: Yuko Kakihara (The Aquatope on White Sand and Blue Orchestra series composer)
• Character designer: Namiko Torii (The Girl from the Other Side [2022] co-main animator, the upcoming Agents of the Four Seasons)
• Character designer: Hirono Nishiki
• Character designer: Asami Sodeyama (Mahotsukai Precure!! ~Mirai Days~)

Studio Pierrot and Bandai Namco Filmworks share creator credits, with the former also being the animation production studio.

Aside from Tachibana and Ojika, Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly will also feature the voices of Hiroki Nanami as mascot character Uguiso, Ai Kayano as the other mascot character Azuki, and Fuka Izumi and Fu Hirohara as the idols Toko Kandachi and Sena Aozono, respectively.

The announcement of a new Pierrot Magical Girl Series anime was made in June 2024. Previous titles that were counted under this branding include 1983-1984’s Magical Angel Creamy Mami, 1984-1985’s Persiathe Magic Fairy, 1985-1986’s Magical Emi, the Magic Star, 1986’s Pastel Yumi, the Magic Idol, and 1998’s Fancy Lala.
