Kingsessing church to be demolished after roof and wall collapse
PHILADELPHIA — The roof and side wall of a church in the Philadelphia’s Kingsessing section collapsed Sunday evening.
The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to the 5500 block of Woodland Avenue just before 6 p.m.
Bricks covered the ground and the roadway next to the Greater Fellowship Baptist Church.
No one was injured.
Woodland Avenue will remain closed, and perimeter fencing was installed around the building.
The church is scheduled to be demolished on Monday.
