Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Reveals Yuta vs Yuji Teaser Visual, January 8 Premiere

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 has received a teaser visual that continues to hype up Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori’s upcoming battle, as well as a January 8 (effectively January 9 at 12:26 AM JST) Japanese premiere.

The new drops come on the date of compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution‘s release in Japan. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution covers Season 2’s Shibuya Incident as well as the first two episodes from Season 3, and is coming to overseas locations like the United States, the UK, Ireland, EMEA, Latin America, and APAC.

Crunchyroll will stream Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 “exclusively worldwide, excluding Asia.” The new season will take place in the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident, with Naoya Zenin and Yuta showing up as initial obstacles.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the supernatural action manga by Gege Akutami, where Jujutsu Sorcerers battle Cursed Spirits in modern-day Japan. The first season of the anime ran from late 2020 to early 2021 with 24 episodes. The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel movie, based on the manga’s four-chapter predecessor, premiered in December 2021.

Season 2 aired from July to December 2023, with the latter “Shibuya Incident Arc” started a few weeks after the initial “Hidden Inventory Arc.” Shota Goshozono (Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 17, Ranking of Kings Episode 21, and Chainsaw Man Episode 8 storyboard artist and episode director) assumed director duties for this season, taking over from Sunghoo Park (God of High School, Ninja Kamui).

The manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018 and ended in 2024.
