“Welcome to the most dangerous planet in the universe… where everything is trying to kill you!”

With less than a month to go before the franchise returns to the big screen, we have the final trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator: Badlands.

Looking to have spared no expense on the iconic alien’s return to theatres, the final trailer lets us in on just how much of an action spectacle Badlands will be.

Also shedding more light on the plot, we see our young Predator protagonist, Dev, ousted from his clan. Later footage reveals he has displeased the leaders, and therefore has been sent to a treacherous planet to prove himself.

On said planet, we see a plethora of alien life forms, each even more deadly than the last. To regain the trust and respect of his clan, Dev must emerge the victor, and face down any threat.

However, whilst Badlands initially looked to be scene after scene of creature-on-creature battles, the final trailer promises us something rather unexpected!

Alongside Dev, we meet Elle Fanning as Thia. The final trailer reveals she is a legless android, who has been left by her company to rot. Choosing to partner with Dev, Badlands promises an intriguing buddy-up situation, wherein creature and machine must fight together. It will be interesting to see if the concept pans out!

Looking like quite the step up from his prequel Prey, 20th Century Studios clearly has great faith in Dan Trachtenberg’s vision. Given his track record with the Predator franchise, could Trachtenberg be the filmmaker that puts the series back in good standing at the box-office?

We’re definitely eager to find out
