While The Conjuring: Last Rites continues dominating the box office, the OTHER long-running paranormal franchise that James Wan created is gearing up for its own return.
Deadline reports that franchise star Lin Shaye will be back in the upcoming Insidious 6, starring alongside Amelia Eve (Mike Flanagan’s “The Haunting of Bly Manor”).
Additionally, they’ve learned that Jacob Chase (Come Play) will direct Insidious 6. Chase wrote the screenplay with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2).
Insidious 6 will take you back into The Further on August 21, 2026.
In addition to the upcoming sixth installment in the mainline series, the franchise will also be expanded upon with spinoff Thread: An Insidious Tale, which doesn’t yet have a release date.
Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani will star in Thread: An Insidious Tale.
Director James Wan’s original Insidious movie in 2011 was followed by Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), and 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door, which became the highest grossing movie in the entire franchise thus far.
