Horror Film About Jesus “The Carpenter’s Son” Gets An R Rating For Violence & Nudity

The future of The Conjuring House in Rhode Island is unknown. The house is located in Harrisville, a village inside the town of Burrillville. The home was made internationally famous when the supposedly true story of the malevolent haunting was turned into a movie in 2013.

The project was spearheaded by James Wan and features Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy) and Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel.) The plot recites the alleged real life investigation led by married paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, and how they help a family under demonic infestation.

Dispute Among the Living

The home was once operated as a paranormal tourist attraction by multiple owners. However, it has recently been shut down since December 2024 and fallen into disrepair.

Burrillville City Council Denies the renewal of Jacqueline Nuñez’s business license.

The current owner, Jacqueline Nuñez, has been denied the renewal of her business license. The town of Burrillville has alleged the owner has displayed erratic behavior and numerous safety concerns. As a result of her behavior and poor management of the property, the “Conjuring” house will be going up for auction on Halloween 2025.

Spirits in Burrillville

Jacqueline Nuñez certainly did act under the influence of spirits on at least one occasion since moving into the Rhode Island haunted house. However, it was not of the paranormal persuasion. Instead, the culprits were reported to be whiskey and vermouth.

In late October 2024, Nuñez led cops on a chase through the town where the “Conjuring” home resides. When she finally pulled over, a police body cam caught how the self proclaimed medium complained, slurred, and stumbled along the side of the road. She did not willingly comply with the officers’ requests, and miserably failed indicators of sobriety. She was later charged with DUI and reckless driving.

Nuñez, current owner of the “Conjuring” house, pulled over for DUI.

Multiple problems have been brought to light since Nuñez purchased the home and began marketing it as a tourist attraction.

Mass resignations among employees. The withholding of an insurance payout from two employees who lost belongings in a barn fire on the property. Even the firing of an employee when a ghostly entity informed Nuñez they had stolen from the buisness. These are all examples of the issues faced in the home that boasts demonic activity.

It has also been reported Nuñez has been difficult to work with by other paranormal investigators.

History of the Rhode Island Home

The haunted history of the home and property has been traced back to 1736 when the house was built. However, it wasn’t until the Perron family moved into the home in the 1970s when paranormal events were recorded.

The family witnessed strange odors, unexplained noises and physical sensations. They also told of objects that moved by themselves, temperature fluctuations, and even apparitions.

Renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren came to the aid of the Perron family, and claimed to have witnessed such events themselves. Upon further investigation, they came to the conclusion the paranormal activity was due to a malevolent spirit named Bathsheba Sherman.

Sherman reportedly resided in the home in the 19th century and practiced witchcraft. Folklore told among the area reported her sacrifice of a baby during a ritual. Sherman then proceeded to hang herself in the yard of the home, cursing the land.

There has been much confusion between differentiating the The “Conjuring” house in Rhode Island and the Connecticut home resided in by the Warrens.

The residence and paranormal artifacts housed inside the Connecticut property is the one recently purchased by Matt Rife. The haunted artifacts inside have been leased to him and his business partner, Elton Castee.

The “Conjuring” home in Rhode Island is the property the comedian and YouTuber Castee have been trying to acquire. Despite it not being officially for sale, the duo have made multiple offers to buy the house from Nuñez. She declined to answer them.

It looks like Rife may soon have his chance! On Halloween this year, the house will be going up for auction!
