Galactic Empire Does Heavy Metal Renditions of ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Terminator 2,’ ‘Batman,’ More Classic Movie Themes

After three albums of Star Wars covers, Galactic Empire is branching out from their galaxy far, far away with heavy metal renditions of other classic movie cues.

Their new record, Cinemetal, features head-banging takes on Akira Ifukube’s Godzilla theme, Brad Fiedel’s Terminator 2 theme, Danny Elfman’s Batman theme, and John William’s E.T. theme, among others.

It also includes renditions of Superman, Avengers, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The physical edition exclusively includes Jurassic Park as a bonus track.

Cinemetal is out today via Pure Noise Records. You can stream the album in its entirety below.

“For years, we have been wanting to explore more musical material outside of the Star Wars universe,” commented Grant McFarland and Carson Slovak, the production duo behind the band. “We decided to dig into a small handful of some of what we think are the most memorable and iconic themes from major blockbuster motion pictures from the last 50 years.”

They continue, “We worked tirelessly on this album and without a doubt it is the most densely layered, complex arrangement that we have ever tackled. There were a lot of challenges to overcome because of this, but the result is immensely satisfying and we couldn’t be more proud of it.”
