The special edition GA-110EVA30 watch was designed by Ikuto Yamashita, the mechanical designer of the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV anime series. For the special collaboration, Yamashita created exclusive original artwork that “captures the intensity of the series’ immersive world.”
The GA-110, whose name was also used in the first Evangelion collaboration in 2010, serves as the product’s base model. The EVA Unit-01 mecha appears throughout its design, featuring its horned headgear on the short band, its face on the bezel, and its right arm gripping the Spear of Longinus that extends from the lower bezel to the long band.
The watch face includes even more references from the anime series. The inset dial indicator at 9 o’clock is inspired by the 3rd Angel, Sachiel. A bold Y-shaped part on the dial and the “CAUTION” pattern has also been added. Other details on the watch include the words “NEON GENESIS” added on the band loop, the NERV logo at the tip of the band, and a 30th anniversary emblem engraved on the case back.
The GA-110EVA30 watch will be released in special packaging and is now available for purchase at US$280.00, before taxes and shipping. More details on the product can be found on G-SHOCK’s official website.
