Raoul Max Trujillo (Sicario), Jamie Neumann (“The Deuce”), Jack Alcott (“Dexter: New Blood”), Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), and Emily Ford (“Outer Range”) also star.
Director Scott Derrickson’s Black Phone 2 is now available on Digital at home.
Scott Derrickson returns to direct from a script he co-wrote with C. Robert Cargill. Joe Hill, author of the short story on which the 2021 film was based, executive produces.
“Four years ago, 13-year-old Finn killed his abductor and escaped, becoming the sole survivor of The Grabber. But true evil transcends death … and the phone is ringing again.
“Four-time Academy Award® nominee Ethan Hawke returns to the most sinister role of his career as The Grabber seeks vengeance on Finn (Mason Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw).
“As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, the headstrong 15-year-old Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.
“Determined to solve the mystery and end the torment for both her and her brother, Gwen persuades Finn to visit the camp during a winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering intersection between The Grabber and her own family’s history.
“Together, she and Finn must confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death and more significant to them than either could imagine.”
The Asylum is back on their bullshit this week, with the indie genre label beating Disney’s Predator: Badlands to the punch with their latest mockbuster Predator: Wastelands.
Predator: Wastelands was released on VOD outlets this past Tuesday.
In the mockbuster take on the Predator franchise, “When an alien hunter arrives on Earth, it takes down a gang of warlords and unexpectedly becomes a folk hero to the oppressed locals. Now with their support, the alien sets its sights on the warlords’ ruthless leader.”

Over 20 years after the franchises first collided on the big screen with Alien vs. Predator, the Alien and Predator sagas come together once again in new movie Predator: Badlands.
This time, Aliens and Predators won’t be battling it out like WWE superstars. Predator: Badlands provides a more subtle link between the two franchises, with Elle Fanning playing a character named Thia who happens to be a Weyland-Yutani android. Thia ends up a hostile alien planet, forced to team up with an unlikely ally: a young Predator named Dek.
Predator: Badlands is now playing exclusively in movie theaters nationwide in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere.
Elle Fanning stars alongside Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek.
The newest entry in the franchise is set on a remote planet where a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, 10 Cloverfield Lane) is back to direct
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is now streaming at home on Netflix.
Oscar Isaac stars in the new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic sci-fi/horror novel as Victor Frankenstein, with Jacob Elordi as The Creature, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander, Christoph Waltz as Heinrich Harlander, and Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein.
“Egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.”
Meagan writes in her review for Bloody Disgusting, “Frankenstein is absolutely breathtaking, with imagery and set pieces that instantly embed themselves in your memory. It showcases del Toro’s strength as a filmmaker, creating immersive worlds that enhance what he does best: championing monsters and their tragic humanity instead of using them to scare us.”
Flesh-eating, mind-altering worms attack in Wormtown, now available on VOD.
In the film from director Sergio Pinheiro, “One year into a plague of flesh-eating, mind-altering worms, the nocturnal town of Ashland, Ohio, has embraced the parasites’ rule. Under cult-like Mayor Joshua, zealous Ranchers spread their gospel—by persuasion or by force. A trio of uninfected women cling to survival through scavenging, extreme hygiene, and evasion. But everyone breaks eventually, unleashing betrayal, sacrilege, and body horror.”
Caitlin McWethy, Rachel Ryu, Emily Soppe, Maggie Lou Rader, and Madison Murrah star in Cranked Up Films release Wormtown, which was written by Andrew James Myers.
Decibel is turning up the volume to the pitfalls of AI.
The sci-fi horror thriller is now available at home.
Director Zac Locke’s Decibel follows a struggling singer-songwriter who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a tech-obsessed music producer. Her art and life are put in peril as she is forced to help create the perfect AI music algorithm.
Stephen Christensen and Matt Wise wrote the screenplay. Aleyse Shannon (Black Christmas 2019), Stefanie Estes (Soft & Quiet), and Colby Groves star in Decibel.
“We set out to make a film that’s as thrilling as it is thought-provoking, exploring what happens when art and technology collide, and Chroma is the perfect partner to bring that vision to audiences,” Zac Locke previews. “Our team is incredibly honored to be among their first releases, and we can’t wait for people to experience Decibel.”
