Fire breaks out at main building of Frog Rock Golf and Country Club in Hammonton, Atlantic County

HAMMONTON, N.J. (WPVI) — A massive fire broke out at the Frog Rock Golf and Country Club in Hammonton, New Jersey, early Tuesday morning.

The Hammonton Fire Department was called out to the 400 block of Boyer Avenue in Atlantic County around 2:40 a.m. after reports of an explosion and fire.

When crews arrived, heavy fire was consuming the building, as well as extending to nearby greens and wooded areas, according to officials.

The Hammonton fire chief says the blaze was at the main building, which was a multi-purpose structure, used for banquets and weddings.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the building was destroyed.

Chopper 6 flew over the scene, where charred remains of the building are all that’s left behind.

The fire has since been placed under control and crews remain on scene.
