“All of the tunnels are underground, where none of the bodies will ever be found…”
We’re just days away from one of the most anticipated horror events of the year, and Warner Bros. don’t want us to forget it.
Warner Bros. Television and HBO are pulling out all the stops with their promotional campaign for IT: Welcome to Derry. Already we’ve had a plethora of teasers, posters, print articles, and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
However, as we enter the final countdown to the show’s premiere date, those involved have decided to give us one last treat… And they’ve decided to make it extra scary!
The newest teaser celebrates all things scary, earning a red-band rating, and an age restriction warning on YouTube.
In the clip, we get further glimpses of the military presence around the town of Derry. All set to an unnerving nursery rhyme, we see a swat team descend upon the infamous house on Nebolt Street, as well as daring to traverse into the sewers. However, there’s something waiting for them unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
Featuring more of Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise than any other teaser, the horrifying clown delights in taunting and terrifying anyone that crosses his path. With his evil spreading like an infection across the idyllic town, several horrifying creatures are glimpsed tormenting the residents.
Alongside Skarsgard, IT: Welcome to Derry stars an ensemble including Taylour Paige, James Remar, Rudy Mancuso, Madeleine Stowe, and Blake Cameron James.
IT filmmaker Andy Muschietti returns to executive produce and direct four episodes. Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane serve as showrunners, as well as being the primary writers for the series.
Should IT: Welcome to Derry prove a success, plans are in motion for two further seasons, each one set 27 years before the last. So, we’ll see how many viewers tune in come the show’s October 26th premiere.
IT: Welcome to Derry will debut on both HBO and its streaming service Max.
