Evil Dead Burn has wrapped filming, writer-director Sébastien Vaniček has confirmed.
In a video posted to his official Instagram, the filmmaker not only confirmed the wrap, but also gave us a look at what we can expect from the movie.
In the short clip, we see actor Hunter Doohan repeatedly hitting something with a weapon that grows bloodier with each blow… We wouldn’t expect anything else from an Evil Dead film.
The sixth official instalment of the franchise began filming back in July, with principal photography taking place in New Zealand.
Alongside Doohan, Evil Dead Burn stars Souheila Yacoub, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, and George Pullar.
Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, however, Vaniček has previously said of his vision:
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
Evil Dead Burn will act as a standalone entry in the storied franchise, making it the second film to do so, following 2023’s Evil Dead Rise.
Series creator Sam Raimi will produce alongside Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, and Evil Dead Rise creator Lee Cronin.
Evil Dead Burn is currently set to hit theatres on July 24th 2026 via Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures International.
