A January 2026 premiere window has been announced for the Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City TV anime. A second trailer was released as well.

Beyond these, it was revealed that:

• Yoko Hikasa and Shion Wakayama are part of the cast as Panamera and Arut, respectively
• The opening theme song is Rei Nakashima‘s “Okirakuze~shon” (previewed in the trailer)

Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord started as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel by So Akaike in 2020. A light novel series, published under the Overlap Novels label and illustrated by Kururi, debuted in 2021 and has eight volumes as of August 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the premise of the latter as such:

Van, fourth son of a marquis, is just a toddler when he realizes he’s been reincarnated. Thanks to his literal lifetime of knowledge, he’s raised as a child prodigy—until his production magic manifests, and it’s the last thing his snooty mage family wants to see! His disappointed father banishes him to a podunk town on the verge of collapse, yet Van can only see the place’s potential.
