Boston to Philly took home two of the most highly coveted awards at the Motion Picture Association Awards of Haiti, Best Film and Best Supporting Actor. The top billed cast and members of the crew were all in attendance to accept the awards, take photos with their fans and give memorable acceptance speeches. Ralph Celestin who was nominated for Best Director & Best Actor also presented an award with celebrity Actress Mary Blaise.
Best Supporting Actor recipient Tai Birch left the sold out crowd at the event speechless with a heartfelt testimony of his journey as an actor and his overall inspiration from his personal life that he applied to his role of Coach George in the film. The night of good fortune continued there shortly after when Ralph Celestin alongside Mia Mendez walked up to the podium to accept the award of the night for Best Movie.The crowd erupted with jubilation as rival filmmakers in the crowd were left aw struck and bewildered.
The Motion Picture Association of Haiti has established “Haiti Movie Awards” as an annual event ceremony to honor and celebrate the hard work of Haitian Filmmakers and actors. Once a year, The Motion Picture Association of Haiti (MPAH) comes together with various businesses, civic leaders, renowned Haitian actors, government officials and Hollywood actors of Haitian descent to celebrate the advancement of Haitian Art, specifically the Haitian Movie industry.
The MPAH Haiti Movie Awards is the premier Haitian led event held in Boston Massachusetts annually. Among our past award winners and honorees are:
