Three character trailers for the recently announced music-themed anime feature Cosmic Princess Kaguya! were released over the last few days, highlighting main stars Kaguya (Yuko Natsuyoshi), Iroha Sakayori (Anna Nagase). and Yachiyo Tsukimi (Saori Hayami).

Despite their brevity, the trailers pack an invigorating punch thanks to the lively and characterful (and capable) animation, with Hayami’s enthusiastic and gremlin energy-emanating Yachiyo (the administrator of a virtual realm called Tsukuyomi) looking like she might narrowly steal the show from the other two. It also helps that the voice-acting sounds good and that a remix of ryo (supercell)‘s Hatsune Miku song “World is Mine” (performed by Kaguya and Yachiyo and titled “World is Mine CPK! Remix”) is the accompanying track for all three videos.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya! is coming to Netflix on January 22, 2026. It features the contributions of multiple Vocaloid producers — apart from ryo, there’s 40mP, HoneyWorks, yuigot/Aqu3ra, and kz(livetune) — and will tell “the tale of two girls who bond through song.”

Another reason to get excited is that this is the feature-length directorial debut of Shingo Yamashita, who storyboarded and directed visually impactful openings for anime like Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, and The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3). Yamashita also directed Pokémon: Twilight Wings and was involved with some Pokétoon entries, mainly as chief director.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya!‘s animation production studios are Studio Colorido and the Yamashita-led Studio Chromato, which are both part of TWIN ENGINE’s EOTA (Engine Of The Animation) network of studios. Illustrator hechima and Akihiro Nagae (Drifting Home) are the character designers.
