A new character visual has been unveiled for the upcoming second season of Chained Soldier, highlighting the leader of the fifth squad, Yakumo Ezo. The second season is expected to premiere in Japan in January 2026.

A voice actress for Yakumo has not yet been announced, as of the time of writing.
Masafumi Tamura (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) is directing the second season, with Keiya Nakano (Loner Life in Another World) as character designer and Yasuhiro Nakanishi (reprising) as screenwriter. Passione and Hayabusa Film are in charge of the animation production, with the latter replacing SevenArcs, who worked on season one.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

The anime is based on the dark fantasy action manga written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on January 5, 2019 and has released 19 tankobon volumes as of September 2025. Yen Press licensed the manga for English release.

HIDIVE streamed the first season of Chained Soldier in select English-speaking countries and territories, as part of its Winter 2024 simulcast lineup. It describes the main synopsis of the first season as:
Two supernatural forces appeared simultaneously on Earth: entrances to another dimension known as Mato, and Peaches, resources that give unique abilities to women. From the Mato come Yomotsu Shuuki, dangerous monsters that leave destruction in their wake. The government’s Anti-demon Corps stands against these creatures, employing women empowered by Peaches to face the monstrous threat. Yuuki Wakura watches these forces clash from a distance, but when he unexpectedly runs afoul of a Yomotsu Shuuki, he’s rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corp — and she sees something in him that could turn the tide of the monster incursion. Yuki holds the unique power to make Peaches more effective, but he’ll have to become Kyoka’s willing slave to join the fight against the Yomotsu Shuuki and save the world.
