The Baki-Dou manga is the fourth chapter of Keissuke Itagaki‘s Baki martial arts saga, and is set after Baki Hanma’s battle with his father. The manga ran from 2014 to 2018 in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion and is collected into 22 volumes.
The Baki franchise began in 1991 with Baki the Grappler, and there are currently seven main Baki series plus various spin-offs. Baki Rahen, which began in 2023, is the latest main entry.
The manga previously inspired a 1994 OVA and a 2001 TV series, before 2018 saw the launch of a Netflix anime. The Netflix Baki shows also include 2021’s Baki Hanma and 2023’s Baki Hanma Season 2, plus last year’s Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura crossover anime.
Netflix describes 2018’s Baki as:
While martial arts champion Baki Hanma trains hard to surpass his legendary father, five violent deathrow inmates descend upon Tokyo to take him on.
