Autumn blues they trouble me so
As I kick up the fallen leaves
Seasons come quickly around
I drink in the view as my soul grieves
A kaledescope of colour explodes
Hues of burnt orange yellow and red
The dew lays gently on the fields
As I meander forlorn enough said
A time of year that reminds me of you
In the misty morning I reflect
Strolling hand in hand in the forest
Me and you love and respect
Through the leafy glade I pass unseen
Up to the heavenly sky I connect
Starlings perform on cue a vision
A display of synchronised precision
My heart rules my head as I contemplate
The fall gives me some light relief
Nature has a way of easing the pain
Stealing my feelings like a thief
Under a mighty oak I rest content
A sea of asters dance in the breeze
I remember you and smile if you please
Autumn blues they won’t let me go
Autumn blues they trouble me so
As the seasons fly by I ebb and flow
Autumn blues they won’t let me go
