Crystal Lake, the highly-anticipated Friday the 13th prequel series from A24, has completed filming.
The wrap was confirmed this past week by showrunner and creator Brad Kane, via his social media.
In an Instagram post, Kane expressed his joy at completing filming, but also hinted there was still a lot of work to do:
“CRYSTAL LAKE wrap party was epic! I’m madly in love with and totally in awe of this stellar bunch of artists and humans. A fella couldn’t ask for a more talented and wonderful group of collaborators. S1 (almost sorta not quite) done and dusted. More please and thank you.”
Actor Cameron Scoggins, who will play Crystal Lake police officer Dorf, also shared the wrap announcement, saying:
“What a journey since June! To be a part of Crystal Lake has been the dream of a lifetime. Thank you for the opportunity. Thank you to the INCREDIBLE crew for being the best group of people to be around everyday. And huge thanks to the true maestro @bradcalebkane who has taken on this legendary franchise with such respect, wit and infectious enthusiasm. Ya’ll ain’t ready for what this man is about to give you.”
So, with filming on Crystal Lake at an end, it’s safe to say that Friday the 13th is well and truly back.
The series will star Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, a young mother who’s a little too protective over her disabled son Jason.
Chucky star Callum Vinson is aboard the project in a recurring capacity as a young Jason Voorhees, whilst the role of an adult Jason has also been cast.
Although we don’t have an official premiere date, Crystal Lake is expected to debut sometime in 2026. A24 and Peacock are partnering to screen the show in the US and Canada, whilst Sky Television and Now TV will bring it to audiences in the UK and Ireland.
We’ll keep on the lookout for that all-important premiere date!
