A Gruesome Symphony Down Memory Lane

I don’t think we’ve quite understood the legacy and impact of Attack on Titan on anime fandom. When the first episode premiered back in 2013, the series made a huge first impression on viewers, leaving them captivated by its explosive debut episode that ended on a gruesome cliffhanger. In the years since, when anime seems to be more mainstream than ever and freely available via streaming, new fans are continuing to discover the show’s high stakes, unpredictable storytelling, and epic musical score that just hits you in the face.

With that in mind, the Attack on Titan: Beyond the Walls Tour is an awesome orchestral musical event that appeals to both diehard and casual Attack on Titan fans alike. Like many anime and video game-focused concerts, the live performance features a grand ensemble of orchestral instruments, covering various tracks from the anime’s soundtracks throughout seasons 1-4.

The concert itself includes several clips of many important scenes from the Attack on Titan anime series to match the musical performances. The scenes are taken from all four seasons of the show in both the WIT Studio and MAPPA eras of animation production.

Additionally, the orchestra performs many fan-favorite tracks throughout the night, such as “Ashes on Fire,” “The Fall of Marley,” “Guilty Hero,” “An Ordinary Day,” “K2-,” and “The Other Side of the Sea.” Any fan of the series will get a good kick out of hearing their favorite tracks, and the concert seems to cover everything from past seasons.

At the Toronto show specifically, I felt a tremendous amount of energy that reflected the impact the series has had on people. Everyone in the audience was so receptive to the musical performance that the conductor came back for a roaring applause and encore. She catered to the crowd’s excitement when she returned wearing a Beyond the Walls Tour T-shirt and proceeded to conduct the next song with a pair of mini Titan slicing blades. It was a great moment and a meaningful ode to all the Attack on Titan fans who showed up for the concert. The excitement was further felt during certain song performances when a talented singer graced the stage to lead the vocals and accompany the choir in the background.

I really enjoyed my time at the Attack on Titan: Beyond the Walls Tour show overall. It’s a must-attend event for Attack on Titan fans who want to look back at the show’s best moments and relive some painful memories. As of November 2025, the tour has complete its full worldwide run. However, for any similar concert shows in the future, I’d caution anyone not caught up on the series to be wary of the many on-screen spoilers, especially major character deaths, that often accompany the grand orchestral music.
