MANGA Plus’ lineup has gotten more fantastical this week with the arrival of two new simultaneous fantasy serializations: Hideaki Nabe‘s The Mage Next Door (Tonari no Osoegawa) and Kyohei Tawara‘s Money Forest (Kin no Naru Mori).
Originally a 2022 one-shot, The Mage Next Door sees the mage Toya Osoegawa being sent from the Magic Realm to deal with bad mages in the human world. Toya is more interested in having a life of comfort and quiet than battling, but he’s also a prodigy of sorts with a vast array of strange and highly specific spells.

Meanwhile, the darker but still comedic Money Forest follows the merchant Rhodri, as he comes to the elven forest in a time when humans have progressed and are using their power to hunt and enslave the elves. Rhodri “possesses unparalleled worldly wisdom and negotiation skills. But are Rhodri’s weapons truly intended for fighting humans…?” teases the synopsis.
