PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Police are investigating a serious pedestrian accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Fairmount.

Officers responded to the intersection of 25th Street and Kelly Drive at around midnight for a report of a pedestrian struck.

Upon arrival, they located a woman who had been hit by a white Volvo SUV. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The victim was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
