With Steam Scream IV Fest off and running, 5ive Bullet Games has released a demo for their upcoming title Victim Complex that changes up the narrative for ghost hunting games. Rather than being a traditional ghost hunter, you’re a hoaxer that falls into something more than they bargained for.

You are Jack Lognare. You make a good living at an odd job; after all, people don’t like to live or work in buildings that they’ve heard are haunted. So whenever someone wants to renovate an old local legend, you get into your car with all of your gear, and make a video pretending to check the building for ghosts. Funny how you never seems to find any… until tonight.

Tonight, your scopes and meters start reacting for real, and suddenly, it’s not an easy gig anymore. There are real spirits haunting this abandoned apartment complex, and you’ll need to put all of your fake skills to work in order to survive.

Every death in the building leaves clues. You’ll need to discover who these people were, and what happened to them, all while trying to save your own life. Each spirit needs something different to find peace, and only by understanding their stories can you know how to react to them.

There’s no way to see without your flashlight, but using it runs you the risk of being seen by the dark presences lurking around the building. Carefully explore the rooms and hallways without attracting unwanted attention. Use your ghost-hunting tools to gather information and carefully plan your next move.
