The Kirio Fanclub TV anime adaptation has received a teaser trailer and a 2026 premiere date. 

The voiceover in the former sees high schoolers Aimi Miyoshi and Nami Someya trying to prove that their own love for the titular Kirio is stronger, via a game where they list what they wish to do with the boy.

Those voices are provided by Nene Hieda (Aimi) and Shion Wakayama (Nami). Kirio’s voice actor was also announced and is Gakuto Kajiwara.

So Toyama (The Apothecary Diaries Episode 16 storyboard artist and director) is directing Kirio Fanclub at SATELIGHT with series composition and scripts by Aya Satsuki (Solo Camping for Two) and character designs by Nami Hayashi (Tasuketsu -Fate of the Majority_).

Kirio Fanclub is based on the manga by Chikyuu no Osakana Ponchan. The anime’s official description reads:

Dear Kirio-kun, I like you. 

But I didn’t know… 

That liking someone could be this painful. 

I really, really like you, Kirio-kun. 

I want to eat hamburgers with you. 

I want to share an umbrella with you. 

I want to smash plates together with you. 

I want to go on a journey searching for every mole on your body. 

I want the day I met you to be a national holiday. 

Aimi and Nami, sharing their thoughts about the person they love—these are their precious moments together. 

They thought these ordinary days would last forever. 

But this chain of one-sided feelings is about to change their everyday life. 

Kirio Fanclub made its debut on Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha’s COMIC Ruelle in 2022 and released its sixth and final volume in September 2024. It has also inspired a live-action drama adaptation.
