Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle Ending Animation

The newly released second episode of Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle marked the debut of the youth anime’s attractive opening and ending animations, and the former is now up in non-credit form on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel.

Ciao Nekotomi (OSHI NO KO Season 1 assistant director and Season 2 co-assistant director) is credited with the storyboards and unit direction of the ending animation, which depicts a solitary Saku Chitose in darker times and his subsequent defiance towards his current situation. It features evocative colors and fluid animation, along with photograph-like shots and stills of the heroines.

The ending song is “Kagero” by CIDERGIRL.

The previous anime season also had a Nekotomi ending sequence, which belonged to Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4. The director’s previous opening/ending work include Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie

Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle is an adaptation of the light novel series written by Hiromu and illustrated by raemz. Yen Press describes the books’ premise as such:

Being popular isn’t easy. It’s hard to beat Saku Chitose. The most popular kid in his high school? Check. An ironclad reputation that can weather even vicious online attacks? Check. A group of friends as attractive on the outside as they are inside? Check. But when a teacher asks for his help bringing back a student who has been shut away in his room for months, Saku’s perfect world will never be the same. What is this, some kind of normie harem story…?

The anime will have two split cours. Crunchyroll, the Ani-One Asia YouTube channel, and Bilibili are streaming it.

The light novel series, which is published under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko label, began in 2019 and has nine main volumes as of August 2024. There is a manga adaptation published by Square Enix.
