PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The food. The fun. The game. The Gritty.
After their first two games on the road, the Philadelphia Flyers are seeking their first win of the season Monday night in front of the home crowd.
“We’re so excited to have Flyers fans back at XFinity Mobile Arena,” said Christine Mina, Senior Vice President of Marketing.
“Nearly a decade of transformation here at the arena, over $400 million to truly transform this place into a brand new arena. We are really excited!” said XFinity Mobile General Manager, Mike Sulkes.
Be in your seats early for a tribute to beloved former Flyer Bernie Parent, who died last month.
Gritty will be on the loose to provide mass chaos.
“It’s a long summer, and now you’re finally here to play in front of your crowd, and there’s nothing better,” said former Flyer and hockey Hall of Famer Mark Recchi, recollecting what the home opener feels like as a player.
Come hungry. Philadelphia was recently named “Most Walkable City in the U.S.” by USA Today, which inspired the menu.
“We wanted to show Philadelphia through food,” said Chef Anthony Campagna.
Don’t forget the merchandise. There are a lot of new pieces from their partnership with Lululemon.
I also tried on a jacket from Mitchell & Ness.
“This is from Mitchell & Ness. It’s a little bomber. These are very in style,” said Georgieanne Michels, Vice President of Marketing.
Gametime is 7 p.m.
