Coming to Screamfest is Ritesh Gupta’s new film, The Red Mask, which makes its US debut following a successful premiere at FrightFest 2025. Gupta’s chilling new feature is described as “A home invasion thriller with a postmodern edge.”

In the film:
When Allina Green, a rising indie screenwriter, is hired to revive a cult ’80s slasher, she and her fiancée, Deetz, retreat to a remote cabin for inspiration. But as Allina’s screenplay begins to rewrite itself and two masked strangers appear, their weekend spirals into a terrifying showdown where homage, horror, and reality bleed together.
Helena Howard (Madeline’s Madeline, The Wilds), Inanna Sarkis (After We Collided, Seance), Jake Abel (The Lovely Bones, Percy Jackson), and Kelli Garner (The Aviator, Lars and the Real Girl) star in the new film.
Atit Shah, Aimee Schoof, and Isen Robbins produced the film.
“The Red Mask is both a love letter and a reinvention. It thrills hardcore horror fans but is crafted to break out with a wider audience. The buzz from FrightFest showed us this film can travel, and we’re ready to partner with distributors who want the next crossover genre success,” said Shah.
The Red Mask plays Screamfest on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the TCL Chinese Theatre.
